Lanzhou Vocational College of science and technology is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college established with the approval of Gansu Provincial People's Government on the basis of the original Lanzhou Information Engineering secondary vocational school. The college was founded in 1996. Since its establishment, the college adheres to the school running policy of "serving the socialist modernization construction as the purpose, promoting the employment of labor force as the guidance, cultivating social practical talents as the goal, and striving to make contributions to the economic development of Gansu and the western region". A total of 10000 application-oriented skilled talents have been trained and transported for economic management, medical and health care, information technology and mechanical processing industries. The college is located in Dingyuan Eastern Science and technology new city, Lanzhou, east of the first mountain in Longyou Xinglong Mountain, west of Heping Higher Education Park, with convenient transportation, smooth information, elegant campus environment and pleasant scenery. The college covers an area of 230 mu, with a building area of 64620 square meters. The library has 150000 paper books and 500000 e-books. It has a standardized 400 meter plastic track, football field, gymnasium and comprehensive auditorium. There are five teaching units and an information network education center under the college, including medical nursing department, economic management department, mechanical and electrical engineering department, information engineering department and basic teaching department. There are 1230 students majoring in computer application, computer network technology, numerical control processing technology, welding and automation, nursing, clinical medicine, stomatology and computerized accounting. The total construction area of the three bases is 9200 square meters. There are 9 training bases for motor vehicle drivers.
