Kyushu Polytechnic College was founded in 1993, formerly known as Kyushu University (Preparatory). It is one of the first batch of private colleges and universities set up independently in Jiangsu Province. In 2002, it was approved by the people's Government of Jiangsu Province and recognized by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It was officially renamed as Kyushu Polytechnic College and became a full-time college with the qualification of independently issuing national recognized diploma. The college is located at the southern foot of Quanzhou mountain in the scenic spot of the southern suburb of Xuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is adjacent to China University of mining and technology, Xuzhou Normal University, Xuzhou Institute of engineering, Xuzhou Institute of architecture and technology and other universities.
