Quanzhou ocean Vocational College

Quanzhou Taishan navigation vocational college is a full-time private higher vocational college approved by Fujian Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education. It is included in the national college entrance examination plan, and has the qualification of independently issuing the national college diploma. Located in Xiangzhi Town, Shishi City, a famous fishing port and hometown of overseas Chinese in the southeast coast of Fujian Province, the college has a long history of navigation and a strong sense of humanistic navigation.

The college is held by Fujian Shishi Taishan crew management Co., Ltd., which is wholly owned by Taishan Petroleum (Singapore) Co., Ltd. The project is a key project of Fujian Province in the 11th five year plan, with a total investment of 600 million yuan. The total area is 823.15 mu, including 690.15 mu for the main campus, 133 mu for the seaside training base (only 1.2 km away from the main campus), and the total planning building area is 228000 square meters.

The college carries out overall planning and functional zoning according to the advanced standards of international maritime colleges and universities. In order to ensure the normal development of college teaching, Taishan Group and Shanghai Maritime University signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement in July 2008. The college will fully introduce the teaching and management mode of Shanghai Maritime University, including paramilitary management and ISO9000.

At present, the first phase of the project has been fully completed, with an investment of 212 million yuan, a construction area of more than 40000 square meters, and teaching, experimental and supporting facilities have been put into operation. It includes: teaching building, teachers' apartment building, 4-person student apartment building, administration building, student canteen, experimental place and sports place.

The president of the college is Mr. Cheng Wenzhong, who has many years of experience in Higher Vocational Education and was formerly the president of Haihua higher vocational and Technical College of Shanghai Maritime University. Shanghai Maritime University has selected outstanding cadres to form the college's teaching management team. At the same time, the college attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff. According to the principle of "open recruitment, selective employment, full-time and part-time combination", a group of excellent teachers with both political integrity and ability are selected to teach in our college. The college has appointed 88 teachers, including 35 teachers above deputy high school and 36 "double qualified" teachers.

With the purpose of "based on the industry, serving the west coast and facing the world", the college mainly cultivates international and high-quality maritime management and technical talents. The college's major setting is mainly engineering, highlighting the characteristics of navigation and shipbuilding, and officially opened in September 2009. The first group set up five majors, namely navigation technology, marine engineering technology, ship engineering technology, electrical automation technology and international shipping business management, and planned to recruit 600 students. After the full completion of the college, the scale of full-time students will gradually grow to 5000. In addition, the college attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability, and plans to build a high-level maritime training base in line with the requirements of the international maritime organization. In September 2008, the college gave priority to a half year short-term training course, including hull manufacturing, ship electrician, ship pipe tongs, welding, lifting and lifting, and delivered more than 300 technical workers for Quanzhou ship repair and construction project under the group.

The majors of the college are talents required by the key industries of international and Fujian Province, with broad employment prospects. Relying on the international platform and export-oriented characteristics of Taishan Group, the college will take the group's own large shipping fleet, shipyards and logistics enterprises as the training base, give full play to the international advantages of the group's shipping network, and cultivate students with strong practical ability, international adaptability and oral English ability. After enrollment, through two-way choice, students can sign tripartite agreements with the world's top ten famous shipowners and enterprises, including Kawasaki steamship of Japan, which are the long-term strategic partners of the college. During the study period, they will have the opportunity to obtain the study and life support from the employers. After graduation, they will be selected and employed overseas.
