Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University is an independent college officially approved by the Ministry of education in 2008. Since its establishment, the college has always adhered to the teaching as the center, with the cultivation of applied talents as the main line, and strive to improve the quality of teaching. In 2016, the college revised and published the training plan for applied undergraduate talents, started the implementation of double degree education, established the "innovation and entrepreneurship" education practice base, continued to expand international cooperation projects, and further strengthened the connotation construction. In December 2016, the college was officially identified as the pilot school for the transformation and development of undergraduate universities in the autonomous region.
1、 One of the only two independent colleges in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University is an independent college officially approved by the Ministry of education. It is also one of the only two independent colleges in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The college covers an area of 1574 mu. Its main campus is located in Airport Road, Hohhot City, with a construction area of more than 220000 square meters. It has its own teaching buildings, dormitory buildings, restaurants, sports venues and leisure places. It has a number of computer rooms, multimedia classrooms, dance rooms, piano rooms, etc. it has opened a number of on campus and off campus practice and training bases, and has a collection of 790000 books. At present, the college has 5 departments, 1 branch and 19 undergraduate majors. Six teaching units: Department of foreign languages, Department of management, Department of humanities, Department of art, Department of Finance and accounting, film and Television Arts branch; five disciplines: literature, pedagogy, management, art and engineering; 19 Majors: English, journalism, preschool education, Chinese language and literature, tourism management, public utilities management, engineering management, property management, civil engineering, fine arts, environmental design, visual communication design, financial management, accounting, auditing, radio and television director, animation, photography, art design. Among them, Chinese language and literature and property management are new majors in 2016.
Since its establishment, the college has clearly put forward the school running concept of "building the school for the public, teaching and serving the country". Under the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of "Three Represents", it adheres to the socialist school running direction, implements the party's education policy and ethnic policy, and focuses on undergraduate education to cultivate high-quality talents with wide caliber, thick foundation, innovative spirit and practical ability. The college was awarded the title of "national advanced independent college" by the National Association of Independent Colleges in 2010, and the title of "China's excellent private higher education institution" by the private higher education professional committee of China Private Education Association in 2011. In December 2016, the college was officially identified as the pilot school for the transformation and development of undergraduate universities in the autonomous region.
2、 Advanced talent training mode, steady employment rate in the forefront of the Autonomous Region
The college has been exploring in teaching, improving the quality of teaching, and formed a distinctive teaching mode. According to the guiding ideology of "strengthening the cultivation of students' practical skills and offering a large number of elective courses", the college aims at "students should not only have systematic and solid professional knowledge, but also have strong professional skills, so that they can start on their posts". After exploration and practice, the personnel training plan was adjusted and revised in 2012, and the proportion of practical courses and elective courses was increased. The proportion of practical courses and theoretical courses reached 4:6, and the proportion of compulsory courses and elective courses was adjusted to 5:5. This kind of training mode enhances the students' professional competence, and the graduates of preschool education are in short supply.
In 2012, the initial employment rate of the first undergraduate graduates reached 98.72%. According to the statistics of the Department of education of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it ranks first in Colleges and universities in the region. The employment rate of 2013 graduates reached 97%, that of 2014 graduates reached 96.88% as of September 1, and that of 2015 graduates reached 96.16%. In 2016, the employment rate of graduates reached 96.22%. For five consecutive years, the employment rate of the college ranked in the forefront of universities in the autonomous region and won a good social reputation.
3、 The construction of various disciplines goes hand in hand, and the teaching staff is constantly strengthened
By the end of 2016, the college has opened 19 undergraduate majors. In 2008, six undergraduate majors were enrolled for the first time, including English, engineering management, journalism, preschool education, art design and tourism management. In 2009, the major of fine arts was added; in 2010, the major of financial management and accounting was added; in 2011, the major of animation, photography, radio and television editing and directing was added; in 2012, the major of civil engineering was added; in 2013, the major of visual communication design and environmental design was added; in 2014, the major of public utilities management was added; in 2015, the major of audit was added; all of them were enrolled in that year. In 2016, Chinese language and literature and property management were added.
The college adopts the measures of "bringing in and sending out" to send some excellent teachers out for further study, and encourages young teachers to continuously improve their academic qualifications. With the support of Inner Mongolia Normal University, a team of teachers with the combination of senior, middle-aged and young teachers has been formed, which can better meet the requirements of education and teaching. More than 38% of the teachers employed in each semester have a deputy high professional title or above.
4、 Scientific research work has been continuously strengthened
At the beginning of its establishment, the college established a scientific research promotion committee, and issued a series of policy documents, such as the "reward measures for scientific research achievements of Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University", so as to stimulate the scientific research enthusiasm of the faculty and promote the scientific research work of the College. By the end of 2011, more than 80 papers have been published in Journal of Inner Mongolia Normal University. In November 2013, Journal of Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University was officially founded. In 2015, five issues were published, and more than 130 papers were published by college teachers. November is designated as "academic activity month" by the college, which organizes more than 40 academic reports every year.
In 2015, our Institute of northern China rock art was officially accepted as the 53rd member of the world rock art organization. There are also new achievements in Pakistan studies in our institute. Five people from our institute participated in the International Symposium on "China Pakistan Economic Corridor" and submitted four research papers to the conference.
5、 The construction of Party and League work has been fruitful
The college puts forward the guiding ideology of "holding higher education to make the party and the government rest assured" and "three rest assured" and "three front lines" in Party construction, and lists party construction as the focus of the college's long-term work. At the same time, the innovation and entrepreneurship education has done a good job. The college Party committee was rated as "advanced Party committee" by the Party committee of Normal University in 2010, "advanced grassroots party organization" by the working committee of Chinese Communist University in 2011, and "advanced Party committee" by Normal University in 2012. In 2015, the College Youth League Committee won the title of "May 4th Red Banner Youth League Committee" of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In 2016, the Youth League Committee of the Academy won the third prize of "national 100 Excellent Youth League branches" and "Challenge Cup" National College Students' science and technology academic competition.
6、 Cooperate with universities all over the world to expand students' international vision
The college has gradually formed the characteristics of open international school running, which is manifested in the internationalization of teaching forms, the internationalization of teaching staff, and the internationalization of campus culture. As of 2015, the college has recruited foreign teachers from Britain, France, the United States, the Netherlands, Ghana, South Africa, Japan, the Philippines, Greece, Cameroon and other countries, making it one of the largest employers of foreign teachers in the autonomous region. The college has established cooperative relations with 29 schools in South Korea, Togo, Ghana, Pakistan and other countries, and has successively recruited nearly 100 African students.
Since 2010, the college has established good friendship with former ambassador Masood Khan and current Ambassador Masood Khalid of Pakistan Embassy in China. With the coordination and support of ambassador Masood Khan, the college has established cooperation and exchange relations with five schools in Pakistan. In August 2011, July 2012, August 2013 and September 2014, the college sent 20 teachers and students to teach Chinese in Pakistan Lahore Acheson college to help the school establish a Chinese teaching and examination system. In October 2013, the current Ambassador Masood Khalid visited the University for the first time and signed a "memorandum of cooperation" with the University, which will carry out cooperation in inter school exchanges, teacher-student visits, preparation for the establishment of Pakistan Research Center, etc. In October 2015, eight Pakistani students came to our college for a one-year study, which is also the first batch of Pakistani students recruited by Hongde college. In 2016, seven exchange students from Africa and Pakistan were recruited to study in the University.
