Fuzhou foreign language and foreign trade vocational and technical college is a private full-time ordinary higher vocational and technical college approved by Fujian Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education. It is characterized by foreign language economy and trade, covering foreign language, economic management, business, electronic information technology and communication. At present, it is an advanced unit of Vocational Education in Fuzhou City, an advanced unit of Vocational Education in Fujian Province, and a school with good evaluation of the Ministry of education's talent training level.

The college is located in Fuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city known as "Zou Lu on the seashore". The beautiful scenery of Rongcheng, the profound cultural heritage of Mindu, the pleasant climate, the prosperous economy and the convenient transportation provide a superior learning and living environment for the students. The college covers a total area of 781 mu, with a building area of 312000 square meters (including 169000 square meters under construction). It has administrative Library Center building, teaching building, experimental building, computer campus network with advanced performance, multimedia classroom, academic lecture hall, voice room, plastic track and field playground, indoor gymnasium, outdoor tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court and other facilities; it has 47 experimental and practical training places with simulated professional atmosphere, and the total value of equipment is 19.13 million yuan. At present, the college has 304 teaching staff, 62 with the title of deputy senior high or above, and 75 with the degree of graduate or above. At the same time, it has many foreign teachers from the United States, Britain, Japan and other countries to provide students with the original ecological foreign language learning atmosphere. There are four departments including foreign language department, economic management department, business and trade department, computer information department and 24 Higher Vocational Majors with distinctive features and comparative advantages. At present, it has 6 provincial excellent courses, 3 provincial excellent majors, 1 training base supported by central finance, 2 training bases supported by provincial finance, 1 comprehensive experimental project of provincial teaching reform, 1 second prize of higher education teaching achievement in Fujian Province, and 1 provincial famous teacher. The college enrolls students nationwide and has more than 5000 full-time students.

The college takes learning for application and serving the society as its school running philosophy, actively serves the regional economy, and carries out all-round and multi-level cooperation with industry associations and enterprises: jointly cultivate high skilled talents, build majors, jointly develop courses, jointly build and share training bases, share school enterprise talent resources, and jointly carry out applied research and technology development. In 2008 and 2009, the college passed the Graduate Employment Evaluation of Fujian Provincial Personnel Department and education department with excellent results, ranking first in Colleges and universities in Fujian Province for two consecutive years. The college provides a platform for college students to start their own businesses and creates the first "College Students' entrepreneurship Park" in Fujian Province. In June 2009, the college was awarded "Fujian college graduates entrepreneurship training base" by Fujian Provincial Personnel Department and Communist Youth League Fujian Provincial Committee. It is the only private college in Fujian Province that has been awarded this project. The college has established cooperative relations with the University of Pennsylvania (GMC), Duke University (DV) and Singapore charter school. Qualified students can continue their studies abroad and complete their undergraduate or even postgraduate studies.
