Hangzhou Institute of science and technology

Hangzhou Polytechnic College of science and technology was established in December 1999 with the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People's government. In February 2009, Hangzhou Polytechnic College of science and technology was officially established with the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People's government.

（1） The college is a public higher vocational college, sponsored by Hangzhou Municipal People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education.

（2） Based on Hangzhou, facing Zhejiang and radiating the Yangtze River Delta, the college aims to cultivate high-quality skilled professionals in the front line of production, construction, management and service. Focusing on urban construction, electronic information, art design, media, economic management and other disciplines will develop in a coordinated way. It will be built into a higher vocational college with the characteristics of "one body, two wings" with general higher vocational education as the main and adult education as well.

（3） In 2013, there were 5000 full-time vocational college students, reaching the scale of 800 full-time vocational college students in the long run.

（4） The new campus construction college is located in Hangzhou, which is known as the paradise on earth. It has four campuses, namely Cuiyuan, Gaoqiao, Yan'an Road and Yanzhou. The main campus of the college is now Wenyi West Road (Cuiyuan campus) in Hangzhou; the new campus is located in Gaoqiao higher education complex in the western suburb of Hangzhou, covering an area of more than 710 mu, with a construction area of 310000 square meters of school buildings under construction. In September 2009, 220000 square meters of buildings will be built and put into use, and other school buildings will be completed by the end of 2010. The construction project of the new campus has been listed in the major construction project of social undertakings development during the Eleventh Five Year Plan period in Hangzhou, the key contact construction project of municipal leaders and the key project of Zhejiang Province. After the completion of the project, the new campus will be one of the most beautiful landscape campus, ecological campus and poetic campus in the province.

（5） Department, specialty, teaching staff and experimental training conditions

At present, the college has six teaching departments, including the Department of urban construction, the Department of information and electronics, the Department of art, the Department of economic management, the Department of Arts and law, and the Department of public education, and 13 Higher Vocational Majors, including urban construction, information and electronics, and art. After five years of efforts, it will form a professional system focusing on urban construction, with coordinated development of electronic information, art design, media, and economic management. The total number of specialties will reach about 25.

At present, there are nearly 500 in-service teaching staff, 300 full-time teachers, including 76 with senior titles, and 10 "131" high-level professionals in Hangzhou.

At present, it has built 40 on campus experimental training rooms to adapt to the practice of various majors, 29 off campus training bases with famous enterprises in the industry, such as Zhejiang Jiuding Architectural Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhejiang zhongkong Technology Co., Ltd., ChuanHua group, etc., and a sketch training base for Art Majors in Tuo village, Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province. The college will increase investment in the next five years, carry out the construction of training base with high starting point and high standard, strive to make the training base of our college first-class in Higher Vocational Colleges in the province, meet the requirements of students' practice and training, and ensure the sustainable development of the college.
