Shandong Pharmaceutical and food vocational college was founded in 1958. It is a full-time state-run college at the junior college level under the dual leadership of the Provincial Department of education and the provincial food and drug administration, with the Shandong food and drug administration as the main management system.

The college covers a total area of 907 mu, with a building area of 146000 square meters; fixed assets of 210 million yuan, total value of teaching instruments and equipment of 28.297 million yuan, 334000 books; there are 63 on campus experimental and training places, and cooperate with enterprises to build 4 practice teaching bases and 24 off campus practice bases. There are 304 teaching staff and 5449 vocational students in our college. The college has Shandong drug administration system training center, Shandong licensed pharmacist training center training point, Shandong Pharmaceutical industry second vocational skill appraisal institute, national computer level, National Higher Vocational English application ability examination point, and undertakes the cadre training task of the whole province's drug administration system.

The college always adheres to the school running tenet of "serving the drug and food industry and serving the people's health", and constantly optimizes the specialty setting. At present, 13 specialties are set up, including pharmaceutical preparation technology, chemical pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical analysis technology, biopharmaceutical technology, traditional Chinese medicine, food nutrition and detection, food processing technology, pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing and maintenance, chemical equipment repair technology, pharmaceutical operation and management, traditional Chinese medicine pharmaceutical technology, food biotechnology, medical electronic instrument and maintenance, among which pharmaceutical preparation specialty is the provincial major Point demonstration major. The major above our hospital is mainly to cultivate high-quality skilled talents for the fields of medicine, food production and processing, wholesale and retail, hospital pharmacy, drug research, drug and food testing, supervision and so on.

The college pays attention to the improvement of education and teaching quality, adheres to the goal of "upgrading the level, creating famous brands, running characteristic colleges and universities, cultivating high-quality pharmaceutical and food talents", and comprehensively improves the comprehensive quality of students. Graduates are welcomed by the society and employers. In the 2009 graduate campus recruitment fair, 123 family units provided 5339 jobs for college graduates, with a one-time employment rate of 97.3%.

In the next five years, we will further increase investment to make the total construction area reach 260000 square meters, and build our hospital into a training base for Shandong drug and food professionals and an on-the-job training base for Shandong drug and food supervision personnel as soon as possible, so as to make new and greater contributions to the cultivation of drug and food talents in our province.
