Taiyuan Tourism Vocational College

Taiyuan Tourism Vocational College is a public full-time college registered by the Ministry of education. It is the earliest and largest tourism professional college in Shanxi Province, and one of the 13 founding member schools of the association of Tourism Colleges of the National Tourism Administration.

In recent years, the college has won many honors, such as "Shanxi Province labor model unit", "Shanxi Province advanced vocational education unit", "Shanxi Province civilized and harmonious unit", "national 38 red flag collective".

The college covers an area of 404.1 mu, with a total construction area of more than 120000 square meters. The campus environment is beautiful, and the facilities and equipment are first-class. The tourism professional training center in the college is a national training demonstration base. It has advanced training equipment such as three-dimensional electronic guide simulation training room, digital tourism planning training room, Chinese and foreign language simultaneous interpretation room, and involves hotels, travel agencies, scenic spots, and exhibitions The foreign language department also has independent native language cultural scene classroom and electronic studio; the information department has independent warehouse logistics distribution training room.

The college also has a number of operational professional entities for teachers and students to practice in person, such as the school run enterprise which has been in operation for 22 years, Taiyuan Yuying tourism company (Travel Agency Co., Ltd.), Hougou scenic area, enterprise advertising planning company (Graphic Studio), campus affordable chain student entrepreneurship supermarket, etc. The college also has hotel management skills appraisal station, driving school, computer, foreign language and other assessment points.

The college enrolls students from 16 provinces in China, with more than 5000 students. There are 21 majors in tour guide, hotel management, tourism management, scenic spot development and management, flight attendant, English, Korean, Japanese, German, Russian, logistics management, exhibition planning and management, accounting, marketing and planning.

Since its establishment for 27 years, the college has always followed the school running tenet of "service-oriented, employment oriented, major construction oriented, industry university research oriented, and internationalization oriented". The major has been expanded and the school running mode has become more flexible. The college has established long-term cooperative relations with 206 top enterprises in the domestic industry, such as the permanent site of Asia Forum, international brand hotel group, large international travel agencies inside and outside the province, established internship and employment bases, opened up "zero investment" paid research projects in Japan, and internship and employment projects in the United States, Singapore, South Korea and Germany, helping students achieve high-quality employment. Over the years, the employment rate of graduates in our college has always been above 98%. The school running achievements have not only been recognized by students, parents and the society, but also been highly praised by Zhou Ji, the then Minister of education, who came to the school for inspection.

The college has national excellent teachers, provincial teaching double teachers, provincial excellent teachers, and 100% of professional teachers are "double qualified" teachers. More than 100% of foreign language teachers with intermediate title or above have foreign learning experience. Many tour guides have won the honorary titles of "national excellent tour guides", "top ten tour guides in Shanxi Province" and "excellent tour guides in Shanxi Province" in professional competitions. Many teachers have been employed as judges of the national tour guide qualification examination. Many teachers of hotel management and tourism management major have gone to international and domestic famous enterprises for temporary training and obtained professional certificates. Teachers of logistics, exhibition, accounting and other majors have enterprise practice experience and hold professional grade certificates. The college also employs many foreign teachers of English, Japanese, Korean and other languages.

The college has one national excellent course, three provincial excellent courses, one provincial excellent teaching team, two first prizes of provincial teaching achievements, two national scientific research awards and two excellent scientific research teams. The college is the president unit of Tourism Education Professional Committee of Shanxi vocational and Technical Education Association, and regularly publishes the Journal of tourism education and research for industry exchange.

The University vigorously promotes the internationalization of running a school, and is the only university in the province with the qualification of accepting foreign students. The college has established friendly cooperative relations with many foreign universities, such as Hessen University of Applied Technology in North Germany, East Asia University in South Korea and Tula Normal University in Russia. In cooperation with the Japanese municipal government of Piper, we have selected students to study in Japan for five consecutive years, and selected reciprocal students from Germany, the United States and France. In the past three years, more than 300 graduates have studied abroad.
