Xi'an University of science and technology

Xi'an University of science and technology has a long history. The school running history can be traced back to the mining and Metallurgy Department of Engineering College of Beiyang University, which was established in 1895. In 1938, it moved to the mining and Metallurgy Department of Northwest Institute of technology. In 1957, it was incorporated into Xi'an Jiaotong University. In 1958, it was separated from Xi'an Jiaotong University to establish an independent Xi'an Institute of mining, which was one of the only two five-year undergraduate colleges under the former Ministry of coal industry. In 1998, the school implemented "central and local co construction, local management oriented", transferred to Shaanxi Province. It was renamed Xi'an University of science and technology in 1999 and Xi'an University of science and technology in 2003.

The university is a University jointly built by the State Administration of work safety and the people's Government of Shaanxi Province, the University implementing the excellent engineer education and training plan of the Ministry of education, the University implementing the public postgraduate project of national construction high-level university, the University implementing the national key discipline project with national characteristics, the University implementing the basic ability construction project of National Central and western universities, and the University constructing the high-level university of Shaanxi Province. Covering an area of 1.08 million square meters, the school has two campuses, Yanta and Lintong, with graduate school and 18 colleges (departments). It has national key disciplines of safety technology and engineering, 8 provincial advantageous (key) disciplines, covering 45 secondary disciplines. It has 13 scientific research platforms at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including the National Key Laboratory of clean transformation of energy and coal quality, the National Key Laboratory of coal industry and mining engineering (provincial and ministerial level), the engineering research center of the western coal mine safety education ministry, 3 provincial collaborative innovation centers, and 6 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological innovation teams. At present, there are 8 national characteristic specialty construction sites, 11 provincial characteristic specialty construction sites, 3 national specialty comprehensive reform projects, 9 provincial specialty comprehensive reform pilot projects, 1 national excellent course, 1 national excellent resource sharing course, 25 provincial excellent courses, 62 provincial excellent resource sharing courses, 2 provincial Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Courses, 1 national teaching team and 28 provincial excellent courses There are three levels of teaching team, one national experimental area of talent training mode innovation, 15 provincial experimental areas of talent training mode innovation, two national experimental teaching demonstration centers (virtual simulation experimental teaching center) and 12 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers.

At present, the university has 6 post doctoral research stations, 5 first-class discipline doctoral programs, 32 second-class discipline doctoral programs, 19 first-class discipline master programs, 85 second-class discipline master programs, 18 engineering master training fields, 1 master of Business Administration (MBA) professional degree authorization program and 1 master of accounting (MPAcc) professional degree authorization program, and 56 undergraduate majors, forming a system with geology, mining and related disciplines as the core It is characterized by the coordinated development of engineering, science, arts, management, law, economics and arts, with more than 23000 full-time students.

The school has more than 2000 staff, more than 1200 full-time teachers, more than 500 professors and associate professors, and more than 1070 teachers with master's degree. Since the 12th Five Year Plan, the university has undertaken more than 3600 scientific research projects, including 173 national level projects such as national major science and technology special projects, "973", "863", National Science and technology support plan, National Natural Science Foundation of China and national social science foundation; the total amount of scientific research funds is 630 million yuan; 3 National Science and technology progress awards and 131 provincial and ministerial science and technology achievement awards have been won; 1388 patents were authorized (including 211 invention patents).

The university has established stable and friendly cooperative relations with nearly 60 universities and scientific research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, the Netherlands and Australia. The university is one of the founding institutions of the "1 + 2 + 1 Sino US talent training program". It has carried out the "1 + 2 + 1 Sino US dual degree program", "1 + 1 + 1 Sino US dual master's degree program" and "dual doctor's degree program".
