Guangzhou Songtian Vocational College

Guangzhou Songtian vocational college, formerly known as the Independent College of Guangzhou University, is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the people's Government of Guangdong Province and registered by the Ministry of education. The college is invested by Zengcheng Songtian Industrial Co., Ltd. It covers an area of 540 Mu and a construction area of more than 200000 square meters. The new campus under construction covers an area of 1300 Mu and has been listed as a key construction project in Guangdong Province.

Guangzhou Songtian vocational college is located in Zengcheng City, a new modern ecological city in the east of Guangzhou. It is located in the Pearl River Delta metropolitan area. It is an important node of Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and other Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations and Guangzhou Shenzhen economic belt. Adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, it faces Dongguan across the river in the south, Huizhou in the East, Conghua in the north, Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone and Guangzhou Science City in the West. It is a well-known litchi Town, jeans City, emerging automobile industry base and eco-tourism demonstration area in China. The first president of the college is major general Shao Hua, the daughter-in-law of Mao Zedong. Now major general Mao Xinyu, the son of Shao Hua, takes over the post of president; Major General Li Tiance, former director of the management and Security Department of the PLA General Staff, takes up the post of honorary president; Professor Lin Weiming, former president of Guangzhou University, and Professor Zhang Juncheng, former president of Ningbo University, serve as consultants. The construction of teachers' team pursues "double quality" and "double structure", with full-time and part-time teachers. At present, there are more than 130 teaching staff, including 115 full-time teachers, 25 with deputy senior title or above, and 40 with master's degree, forming a group of teachers adapting to the teaching characteristics of higher vocational colleges.

After its establishment, the college began to recruit students in 2007 and gradually expanded its scale. In 2008, there were 2400 full-time students. According to the college scale development plan, there will be 4000 full-time students in 2009 and 7000 in 2011.

The college sets up 8 major categories, including finance and economics, electronic information, manufacturing, tourism, culture and education, art design and media, 18 majors, 3 teaching departments and 1 Basic Course Department. Guided by the development needs of modern service industry and advanced manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta region, the college aims to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with one specialty and multiple abilities, strengthen specialty construction and deepen teaching reform, carry out school enterprise cooperation with the Pearl River Delta Industry and local enterprises in Zengcheng City, and jointly formulate talent training plans, so as to form the relationship between schools and enterprises, majors and occupations, students and posts Then, we should establish the talent training mechanism, implement the double certificate system of "academic certificate + professional qualification certificate", and constantly explore the talent training mode based on real work tasks.

Through resource sharing with Songtian College of Guangzhou University, as well as cooperation with Sun Yat sen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and South China Agricultural University, we provide students with multiple ways to upgrade from college to university. Students can be admitted to Songtian College of Guangzhou University, which has a great advantage in pre examination training, enrollment and other aspects; they can also complete self-taught examination subjects through self-taught examination guidance, and obtain self-taught undergraduate diploma.
