Taizhou University is located in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city known as "ancient county of Han and Tang Dynasties and famous District of Huaihai". Taizhou University is a public undergraduate college. Its history can be traced back to Taixing normal school, the first school in Jiangsu Province to train Anti Japanese cadres and teachers founded by our party in the old revolutionary base area of Huangqiao in 1941, and Taizhou normal school, the first provincial secondary normal school established in Jiangsu Province after the founding of the people's Republic of China. In 2001, the two schools merged to establish Taizhou normal college, which was established in Taizhou in 2013 Taizhou University was established on the basis of normal college. The college covers an area of 772 Mu and has more than 6500 full-time students. At present, the College of humanities, School of tourism management, School of mathematics and information, School of foreign languages, School of education and psychological science, School of mechanical and electrical engineering, School of music, School of fine arts, School of business, Taixing college and Department of physical education and so on. To meet the needs of local basic education and Taizhou's economic and social development, the college now has 35 majors, which are distributed in eight disciplines, including education, management and engineering. Preschool education and marine engineering technology have been established as the key construction majors supported by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance of the people's Republic of China. Preschool education, English education and music education are the provincial characteristic majors. Preschool education specialty group and financial specialty group have been identified as the provincial key construction specialty group in the 12th Five Year Plan. The college has a teaching staff of "learning high, being upright, being dedicated and cultivating people". There are 405 full-time teachers in the college, including 169 full-time teachers with senior professional titles (including 25 professors) and 214 full-time teachers with master's degree or above (including 22 doctors). At present, there are 3 provincial "outstanding contribution experts", 8 municipal "outstanding contribution experts", 3 provincial "333 project" training objects, 3 provincial "Blue Project" outstanding young and middle-aged academic leaders, 11 provincial "Blue Project" young backbone teachers and 23 municipal "311 project" training objects. The development trend of the college is good, and the level of teaching and scientific research is constantly improving. At present, there are 2 national excellent courses, 4 provincial excellent courses, 1 provincial demonstration training base, 4 provincial excellent teaching materials and project materials, and 62 Provincial College Students' practical and innovative training projects. In the past five years, the college has undertaken 5 teaching and research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, and won 6 teaching and research awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level; teachers have published 40 books and textbooks, and published 302 papers in core journals, including 70 papers included in SCI, EI, CSSCI, and National People's Congress. In the past three years, the average enrollment rate of freshmen is more than 90%, and the average employment rate of graduates is 98%. The college actively cooperates with Nanjing Normal University, Suzhou University, Yangzhou University and Nanjing University of Finance and economics. The college has also established friendly cooperative relations with Germany, Japan, South Korea, Canada and other countries. In 2011, the college cooperated with Northern Institute of Applied Technology of Canada to jointly train students majoring in preschool education.
