Jingdezhen university is located in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, which is a famous historical and cultural city, an excellent tourist city in China and a world-famous porcelain capital for thousands of years. It is a public multi-disciplinary full-time regular undergraduate college. The college has established the school running orientation of "local, application-oriented and open", followed the development road of "characteristic, differentiation and internationalization", and determined the development goal of building the college into a local undergraduate college of application technology with distinctive characteristics.

The college covers an area of 1006.2 mu, with a building area of 282000 square meters, including 186000 square meters for teaching and research administration. There are more than 1 million paper books, 1200 Chinese and foreign periodicals, 210000 e-books, modern e-book system and computer network service system. The total value of teaching equipment is 60 million yuan. There are 12 experimental training centers, 117 laboratories, and 108 stable off campus practice and training bases.

Relying on the profound historical and cultural heritage of Jingdezhen, the college carries out ceramic culture research and artistic creation on the platform of ceramic culture and art research center and Maritime Silk Road Research Institute, and has achieved a number of influential research results. In recent years, he has undertaken more than 500 scientific research projects at all levels, including 3 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China, 1 project supported by the national arts foundation of China, and 1 research project supported by the Ministry of education on Humanities and social sciences. More than 60 social science and art projects have been approved in the province, ranking the top three in the province for three consecutive years, and four third prizes of provincial scientific research achievements have been won. He published 1383 academic papers, including 408 in core journals, 67 in SCI, EI and ISTP, and 109 monographs and textbooks.

Remarkable achievements have been made in opening up schools. The successful signing of the chair of "ceramic culture: protection and innovation" with UNESCO marks the birth of the only chair in the field of ceramics in the world and its settlement in our university. It has established strategic cooperative relations with Hefei University, Expo Research Institute of East China Normal University and Jingdezhen Ceramic University, and cooperated with Bloomfield University in the United States and Yuanguang University in South Korea to send overseas students to each other. It has established school enterprise cooperation with Jingdezhen high tech Zone and BAIC Changhe. Hold or undertake large-scale ceramic art exhibition and international conference, receive domestic and foreign guests to visit the school, and enhance the popularity and reputation of the school through cultural exchange and cooperation.

Over the past 40 years, the college has trained more than 60000 talents for the society, and has become an important talent training base in Jingdezhen and its surrounding areas. More than 80% of primary and secondary school teachers and education administrative cadres in Jingdezhen city are trained by schools.
