China Metrology University

China Institute of metrology is the only undergraduate college in China's quality supervision, inspection and quarantine industry. It is a key construction university in Zhejiang Province with distinctive characteristics of quality inspection and Quarantine of measurement standards. Professor Zhuang Songlin, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, is the honorary president, and Professor Lin Jianzhong, winner of the national fund for Distinguished Youth and a special expert of Zhejiang Province, is the president.

The school is located in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province. The school covers an area of 1580 mu, with elegant campus environment and excellent school running conditions. It has teaching and scientific research equipment with a total value of 330 million yuan and 2 million paper books. At present, the university has 49 undergraduate majors, covering ten disciplines of engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics, agriculture, medicine, philosophy and art. There are 19 Colleges (departments) and one independent college. There are 14200 full-time undergraduates, more than 1200 graduate students and 6800 independent college students.

At present, there are more than 1200 full-time teachers in the school, including more than 630 teachers with deputy senior titles and above, and 91.5% of them have doctor's and master's degrees. It has more than 100 high-level academic leaders, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering, national "Thousand Talents Program", national million talents, new century talents of the Ministry of education, provincial special experts, provincial "Thousand Talents Program", provincial distinguished professors, provincial famous teachers, provincial "151 Talents Project" key funding and first and second level training personnel.

At present, the university has 11 provincial key disciplines, 11 provincial key research bases of Humanities and Social Sciences, 7 primary disciplines authorized by master's degree and 25 secondary disciplines authorized by master's degree. It has the right to grant master's degree in engineering and the right to recruit foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. At present, there are 14 scientific research platforms at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including the engineering research center of the Ministry of education, the national and local joint engineering laboratory, the national quality inspection center, the provincial key laboratory, the provincial engineering laboratory, and the provincial science and technology innovation service platform. Adhering to the principle of "based in Zhejiang, facing the whole country, relying on the industry and serving the local area", the University actively carries out scientific research, comprehensively and deeply promotes the industry university research cooperation with local governments, high-tech zones, quality inspection institutions and industrial enterprises, undertakes and completes the national 973, national major science and technology projects, major scientific instrument projects of the Ministry of science and technology, international science and technology cooperation of the Ministry of science and technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China 250 national scientific research projects, and more than 60 provincial and ministerial level awards, including the second prize of national technological invention, the first prize of Natural Science Award of Ministry of education and the first prize of science and technology award of Zhejiang Province.

The school adheres to the school motto of "thinking carefully about national economy and people's livelihood", adheres to the school running philosophy of "establishing the school by measurement, establishing people by standards and establishing a career by quality", takes cultivating high-quality talents to meet the needs of national quality inspection as the goal, takes improving quality as the core, deepens the education and teaching reform, and implements the credit performance point system, flexible education system, major and minor system, double specialty and double degree system. At present, there are 4 national characteristic majors, 2 comprehensive reform pilot projects of the Ministry of education, 2 majors have passed the national engineering education professional certification of the Ministry of education, 12 provincial key majors and 5 provincial advantageous majors; 3 National Excellent Courses, 2 national excellent resource sharing courses, 1 National Bilingual Teaching Demonstration course, 1 brand English course for overseas students and 2 provincial excellent courses 3; 1 national teaching team, 5 provincial teaching teams, and 6 professors were employed as members of the Higher Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of education from 2013 to 2017; 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 10 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers; 1 National Talent Training Mode Innovation Experimental Zone, and 1 National off campus practice education base for college students. The university is the Ministry of education excellent engineer education and training program universities, national college students innovation and entrepreneurship training program project universities. In the past two years, it has won 15 national and provincial government teaching achievement awards, and won the first and only "ISO standardization Higher Education Award" in the world. In 2007, the University passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education with excellent results.

The school adheres to the principle of moral education, comprehensively and deeply promotes "practice education", and focuses on cultivating students' sense of responsibility, innovative spirit and practical ability. Students have won more than 80 national awards in various college students' science and technology competitions, including 4 first prizes in the "Challenge Cup" national competition, 9 first prizes in the national mathematical modeling competition, and 5 first prizes in the National College Students' e-commerce competition. The number of student invention patents, utility model patents and design patents authorized ranked among the top 100 universities in China. The university enrolls students from 31 provinces (cities) in China, the quality of students has been steadily improved, and the employment rate of graduates has always been in the forefront of provincial universities.
