Shanxi construction vocational and technical college is a national model backbone vocational college, and also one of the longest running history and largest Vocational Colleges in Shanxi Province. Its predecessor is Shanxi construction engineering school of national key technical secondary school, which was established in 1952. It is subordinate to the Department of housing and urban rural development of Shanxi Province, and its business is under the leadership of the Department of education of Shanxi Province.

The college covers an area of 693.8 mu, including 188.8 mu for the old campus and 505 mu for the new campus.
