Baiyan Teng

Another name: Parthenocissus tricuspidata, wuyanzi, xiashanhu, nitengcao and Cornus.
[source] it is the root and stem of Hedysarum parvifolium.
[plant morphology] Hedysarum parvifolium
Rattan shrub. The stems are dark brown, and the tender branches are pilose. Leaves opposite, papery, elliptic, oblong or obovate elliptic, 2-6 cm long and 0.8-3 cm wide, apex obtuse or short acute, glabrous on both sides except for bundle hairs in dorsal vein axils; stipules membranous, grass yellow. The flower is white or greenish white; calyx is connate; corolla tube is very short, lobes are oblong lanceolate. Fruit globose, red when ripe. It blooms in summer.
Born in the mountains and shrubs. It is distributed in the south of China.

Sweet and cool.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, dispersing blood stasis and relieving pain, dispelling wind and removing dampness. It can cure dyspepsia, diarrhea, constipation, cold, cough, sprain, lumbar muscle strain.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-2 Liang.
[clinical application] treatment of bronchitis and pertussis
Take 1-2 liang of baiyanteng (1 liang for pertussis, with a little sugar) in water, once a day. More than 500 cases of bronchitis were treated, and 6 cases of pertussis were cured.
