[plant morphology] perennial climbing herbs. Stem slender, hairy or glabrous on nodes, tendrils often 2-lobed or undivided. The leaves are bird footed, often composed of 5-7 leaflets. The leaflets are elliptic, lanceolate to ovate, with petioles. The middle leaflets are 3-9cm long and 1.5-3cm wide, with serrated edges. The dorsal surface or along the veins on both sides have short bristles or subglabrous. Inflorescence: panicle; flowers small, about 3 mm in diameter; calyx lobes triangular, about 0.5 mm long; corolla lobes lanceolate, about 2 mm long. Fruit globose, black at maturity. The flowering period is from July to August and the fruiting period is from September to October.
It was born in the mountains. Produced in Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, Guizhou. It is cultivated in many places.
