[source / prescription] this product is the dry aerial part of Dracocephalum heterophyllum Benth. They were harvested from June to July when the flowers were in bloom, removed impurities and dried in the air.
[character] the stem of this product is square, often bent or slightly bent, mostly broken, 5-20cm long, 2-4mm in diameter, yellowish green with purplish red on the surface, deep purple at the nodes, densely covered with white pubescence; it is hard and brittle, with dust flying when broken, yellowish white on the cross section, flat in the center, and sparse in white. Leaves opposite, broadly ovate or long ovate, 1.3-4cm long, margin crenulate or serrate, pubescent. Cymes capitate or spicate, 3-10cm long; bracts obovate or lanceolate, with 3-8 small teeth on each side, tooth tip with awn spines; flowers lip shaped, light yellow, upper lip 3-lobed, lower lip 2-lobed. Seeds dark brown, long ovate, about 3 mm long and 1.2 mm wide. It has special fragrance, light and astringent taste.
