It is an annual herb, 1-1.5 meters high and fragrant. Stem tetragonal, puberulent, base lignified. Single leaf opposite, elliptic lanceolate to lanceolate, 7-16 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, serrate above the middle of the edge, entire near the base, and narrowly extending to the petiole, with more or less hairs on the top and no hairs on the bottom except the vein.
