The perennial root is 23-15 cm in height. The branching roots are fine. Stem erect, tetragonal, pubescent by pressing upward. Leaves opposite; lower leaves ovate lanceolate, upper leaves strip-shaped, about 1-2.3 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, entire and slightly involute, both sides are sparsely pilose, below dense concave glandular points. Flowers axillary in pairs, arranged in racemes; blue purple, lip shaped, 1.2-1.7 cm long, tube near base, geniculate forward, middle lobe of lower lip ovoid; stamens 4,2-strong. Nuts, tiny.
It grows on barren slope, grassland or ditch. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan and other places.
