Shrubs climbing, with scattered uncinate spines. Inflorescence racemose, 15-30 cm long; flowers symmetrical, bright yellow; pedicel 2-4 cm long, stiff, with joint under calyx, flowers easy to fall off; sepals 5, pubescent; petals 5, membranous, round or obovate; stamens 10, separated, filaments densely hairy below middle; ovary superior, locular, with ovules several. Pods subwoody, short ligulate, oblique, 6-12 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, slightly inflated, apex extended into a thorn tip, expanded into narrow wings along ventral suture, and dehisced along ventral suture, chestnut, glabrous.
