Perennial small herbs, 10-20 cm high. Base branched, stoloniferous, stem slender, slightly hyaline, covered with upward hairs. Leaves alternate; rhomboid ovate or slightly triangular, several equal in length and width, ca. 1-2 cm, apex obtuse, base cuneate, margin obtuse serrate, upper sparsely long hairy and punctate, lower sparsely pubescent. The flowers are unisexual, monoecious; the flowers are purple; the male inflorescence is from the axils of branches and leaves, with slender stems; the female inflorescence is from the upper axils; the male calyx is 5-lobed, with the same number of stamens; the female calyx is 4-lobed, with long white hairs on the lobes, 1 pistil and a hairy stigma. Achenes ovate, punctate. The flowering period is April. The fruit period is from May to June.
Born at the foot of the mountain. It is distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Basin and Taiwan.
