[plant morphology] Commelina communis

Annual herbs. [clinical application] 1

Take 1-2 taels of Commelina communis (2-4 taels of fresh grass) and decoct them twice. 130 cases were treated, 109 cases were effective (body temperature dropped to normal within 1-3 days), 21 cases were ineffective (fever subsided more than 4 days). For prevention, take orally tablets (each tablet contains 10.3 g of dried crude medicine), 3 times a day, 2 tablets each time; or take orally a bag of granules (including 2 liang of hay) with boiling water, or take orally decoction. They were taken for 4 days. Results none of the 290 patients got sick, while 23 of the 371 patients in the control group got sick.

② Treatment of mumps complicated with meningoencephalitis

Take 2 taels of Commelina communis everyday and fry them. The average time of fever abatement and parotid gland detumescence was 2.8 days, headache disappeared for 1.4 days, vomiting stopped for 1.2 days, and the average hospitalization time was 4.6 days.
