Herbs perennial, covered with white or yellowish pubescence. Base branched, often creeping on the ground. The leaves are 3-compound, with long petioles; the leaves are broadly ovate, 2-4.5 cm long and 3-6 cm wide; the central leaflets are long or short petioles, broadly ovate or rhomboid ovate, 3-lobed to deeply lobed; the upper edge of the lobes is sparsely serrate; the lateral leaflets are short petioles, unequally 2-lobed. Flowers opposite leaves solitary, pedunculate, ca. 1.5 cm in diameter; sepals 5, narrowly ovate, reflexed; petals 5, yellow, nearly elliptic; stamens numerous, anthers yellow; pistils numerous, ovary superior, style hooked. Achene flat, marginate, middle protuberant, apex shortly beaked. The flowering period is from May to June.
Born in wet and shady places by streams or woods. It is distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Taiwan.
