The pectin of Citrus fruit endothelium of citron can reduce the cholesterol of serum and liver of rats fed cholesterol (1% weeks in mixture), and significantly reduce the adrenal gland, which is stronger than that of tomato pectin. The result is that methoxy (9.2%) is higher than that of the latter (6.5%). This pectin can also reduce the incidence rate of atherosclerosis, and reduce the lesion of the egg yolk powder or spontaneous small Leghorn chicken. The above effects are mainly due to pectin accelerating the passage of food through the digestive tract, accelerating the excretion of lipids and cholesterol with feces, and reducing the absorption of exogenous cholesterol. 15 grams of pectin per day can also reduce cholesterol in people with a strictly controlled diet.
