Xiaoheiyao
(Yunnan Chinese herbal medicine)
[synonyms] Clematis tongjiaoensis and Panax notoginseng.
[source] it is the root of Alternanthera yunnanensis.
[plant morphology] Chuandian biandoucai, also known as Kunming biandoucai.
Perennial herb, 30-50 cm high, glabrous. Root dressing, slender, slightly curved, dark brown. Stem erect, cylindrical, longitudinally ribbed, slightly branched. Basal leaf heart triangular, palmately 3-lobed, lobes ovate or elliptic, 2.5-5 cm long, 1.5-3 cm wide, sometimes 3-lobed, apex acute, base cordate, margin acutely serrate, middle lobe rhombic elliptic, lateral lobes spreading, obliquely ovate; petiole 6-16 cm long. Compound umbel terminal; involucral bracts several, strip; small involucral bracts about 10, strip; pedicel many; flowers small, white. Fruit obovate, 2 mm long, with apex curved prickles.
Born on hillsides, streams, wet places. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan and other places.
