Herbs succulent perennial, with or without fruitless branches. Stems erect or slender, rooting at oblique nodes. Single leaf alternate, spoon shaped, long ovate or obovate, 1-2 cm long, apex pointed or obtuse, upper part often with papillae; leaf axils with small spherical scale buds, about 3 mm in diameter. Flowers sessile; sepals 5, broadly oblanceolate, apex papillate, varying in length; petals 6, lanceolate to long ovate, yellow, apex apical; stamens 10; carpels 5, mature carpels 4-6 mm long, base connected. Follicles; seeds oblong, papillary, wingless. The flowering period is from April to May.
