[plant morphology] Pedicularis bryophytes
Perennial herbs. The roots are stout and branched. Stems tufted, erect or decumbent, up to 25 cm. Leaves alternate; petiolate; leaves elliptic to lanceolate, 5 cm long, pinnately divided, lobes often alternate, 4-9 on each side, ovate to lanceolate, sharply double serrated, teeth convex. Flowers solitary in leaf axils, Rose: tube 4-7.5cm long, hairy outside, 3-shaped beak curled in front of helmet; 2 pairs of filaments glabrous; style slightly protruding from beak end. Capsule oblate ovate, 1 cm long, enclosed in persistent calyx. The flowering period is from May to July. The fruiting period is August.
It grows in the moss layer under the mountain forest or in the shady and wet places. It is distributed in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai and Hubei.
In addition, the roots of Pedicularis spicata and Pedicularis annulata are also used as medicine in Shaanxi.
