[plant morphology] Cordyceps tenuifolia
Annual delicate scattered herbs, about 15-40 cm high. The stem is bald and glossy when dry. Leaf blade linear or linear lanceolate, 2.5-5 cm long, 3-5 mm wide, apex short pointed, entire, dorsiflexed, base obtuse, slightly leathery, dark green above, light green below, black purple when dry; stipules connate, membranous, 3-8 mm long, with short flat pointed hairs on the back and long bristles on the margin. Flowers 1-3, axillary, sessile; calyx 3 mm long, 4-lobed, lobes ciliated; corolla white, 3 mm long, 4-lobed, lobes lanceolate; stamens 4, inserted on corolla tube; ovary 2-locular, style linear, stigma slightly expanded. Capsule ovoid, 2.5 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, apically dehiscent; seeds numerous. It blooms in summer. The fruit period is autumn.
Growing in the sun. It is distributed all over the south of the Yangtze River.
