[synonym] mosquito branches and leaves, white back leaves, jiangjingye, pujiangye and jiangziye.

[source] it is the leaf of Vitex negundo of Verbenaceae, and the plant morphology is detailed in Vitex negundo.

[collection] at the beginning of summer, collect the clean leaves before flowering, stack them solidly to make them sweat, pour them out and sun them to half dry, then stack them solidly, wait for the green to turn black and moist, and then sun them to foot dry.

[herbal medicine] the dry leaves are wrinkled, gray black or green brown, the back color is dim, and covered with short hairs; they are palmately compound leaves, with 5 leaflets or 3 leaflets, long oval to lanceolate, apex long pointed, base cuneate; the petiole is square and covered with hairs. The leaves are crisp and fragrant.

Mainly produced in Guangdong, Guangxi and other places.

The leaves of the same genus Vitex trifolia are used as medicine in Tibet.

[chemical constituents] it contains Vitexin, luteolin-7-glucoside, tetrahydroxy methoxyflavone α - D-glucoside, 5-hydroxy-3,6,7,3 ", 4" - pentamethoxyflavone, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, etc. It also contains vitexine and vitamin C.

[clinical application] ① treatment of acute bacillary dysentery

Wash half a jin of fresh Vitex negundo leaves, add 800 ml water, decoct for 1.5 hours, filter, and concentrate for 100-120 ml. Adults take 30-40 ml each time, three times a day. 54 cases of acute bacillary dysentery were treated. On the second day after taking the medicine, the general symptoms were relieved, the frequency of defecation was reduced, and the body temperature was reduced to normal; abdominal pain, diarrhea, pus and mucus disappeared in 2-7 days respectively. The average time was 5.1 days. After 50 days of cure, 18 cases were followed up and no recurrence was found. It also has certain effect on chronic bacillary dysentery or as preventive medicine.

② Treatment of acute enteritis

Take 5 pieces of fresh leaves of Vitex negundo (Vitex negundo) and fry them, one dose a day; or use 1 jin of stems and leaves of Vitex negundo to fry them into 7500ML, 150 ml a day. More than 40 cases were treated, and they were basically controlled on the second day. In summer, boiling water instead of tea can prevent enteritis.
