Evergreen trees. The leaf blade is linear lanceolate, 10-30 cm long, 3-7 cm wide, apex pointed, base obtuse, entire, dark green above, yellow green below, 8-10 pairs of lateral veins. Flowers heterozygous or unisexual, 1 to several clustered; pedicel pubescent; male sepals 5, ovate, base slightly united, both surfaces pubescent; petals 5, ovate, red or pink; staminodes phosphorous, linear, inserted on petals, inner margin ciliated, near apex pubescent; stamens 5, anthers extroversive, oblong, filament base thick; ovary terete, pubescent The ovary is ovoid or obovate, covered with long bristles, 1-locular, with 5 membranous placentas, many ovules, style thick and short, pilose, stigma 5-lobed, involute. The berry is spherical, 6-8 cm in diameter, and the pericarp is hard. There are 30-40 seeds, slightly polyhedral, cuticle in exotesta and abundant endosperm. The flowering period is from January to March.

It is distributed in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and other regions of Southeast Asia. It is distributed in Yunnan in China, and cultivated in Taiwan and Guangxi.

[clinical application] 1

Dapengzi Renli is an effective drug for the treatment of leprosy. However, it is rare to use dapengzi Renli alone for the treatment of leprosy due to its pungent, hot and toxic effects. It is usually made into compound pills, such as the leprosy pills used in Jiangsu Province, the scavenging pills in Zhejiang Province, the pijing pills, Yinfeng pills and fangfengtongjing pills in Guangdong Province, etc.

② Treatment of urticaria
