[plant morphology] asparagus
Perennial herbs. Roots long, slightly fleshy. Stem climbing, essence, bald; branches and leafy branches are numerous, slender, horizontally arranged, branches and leaves like sheep teeth. The scaly leaves on the main stem are white, with triangular spines at the bottom. Flowers small, bisexual, slightly white, 1-3 or 4 on a short stalk, ca. 3 mm long; perianth campanulate, 6-lobed; stamens 6, inserted at the base of perianth; ovary 3-ribbed, 3-locular, stigma 3-lobed. Berry globose, purple black, with 1-3 seeds. The flowering period is summer and moon.
It is cultivated all over China.
Bitter, cold.
Functions and indications: cool blood and detoxify, diuretic and Tonglin.
[prescription selection] 1. To treat stagnant heat and cough up blood: Wenzhu five to eight coins. Drink boiled water and rock sugar.
