[plant morphology] Zhujiao (notes of Nanyue), also known as Tieshu (Miscellaneous notes of Lingnan), Zhuzhu (notes of Nanyue), tieliancao (true biography of family treasure), hongyetieshu and hongtieshu.

Erect, stout shrub, 1-3m high, single stem or few branches. The leaves are gathered at the top of the stem, lanceolate elliptic to oblong, 30-50 cm long and 5-10 cm wide, with many veins, the apex acuminate, and the base narrow, forming a stalk with groove, broad foot and embracing stem, green or purple red. Flowers nearly sessile, alternate on branches into a broad panicle, about 30 cm long, light red to mauve, with yellowish; flowers about 1 cm long; petiole base with 3 involucrate bracts; perianth tubular, 6-lobed, lobes narrow, erect, about as long as the tube; stamens 6; ovary 3-locular, 4-6 ovules per locule. The fruit is a berry. The flowering period is summer and moon.

Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi and other places.
