[source] it is the root bark and leaf of Eupatorium grandiflorum.

[plant morphology] Limonium grandiflorum

Herbs Biennial. The taproot is stout and dark brown. Stem erect, upper branched. Leaves alternate, entire, narrowly oblong or broadly lanceolate, 10-15 cm long and 2-7 cm wide, with coarse hairs on both sides; basal leaves with long stalks, cauline leaves without stalks or with short stalks. Raceme terminal or axillary; calyx deeply 5-lobed, enlarged when bearing fruit; flowers blue, sometimes white; corolla funnel-shaped or high pedunculate, throat with obvious scales; stamens 5-lobed, enclosed; ovary deeply 4-lobed. Nutlets 4, ovoid, 3-4 mm long, densely short uncinate.

Born on hillside, beach or grassland. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Sichuan, Shaanxi and other places.

Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, promoting blood circulation and dispersing blood stasis, relieving swelling and pain, lifting pus and generating muscle, regulating menstruation. It is used to treat sore, furuncle, carbuncle, snakebite, traumatic injury, fracture and irregular menstruation.
