[animal morphology] 1. Anoplophora glabripennis
The body is long and narrow, the female is broad, black, sometimes slightly metallic, 19-39 mm long and 6-13.5 mm wide. The head is short. The compound eyes are located on both sides of the forehead. The antennae are 11, and the peduncle is closed. The antennae of female exceed 1-2 knots, and that of male exceed 4-5 knots. Antennae from the 3rd segment, each segment base has light blue hair ring. There are three tumor like processes in the anterior sternum and the lateral spinous processes are stout. Scutellum usually with indistinct gray hairs, sometimes white, sometimes mixed with blue. Wings developed, Coleoptera with small white spots, usually about 20 per wing, arranged in 5 irregular rows; Coleoptera base with many particles of different sizes, rough cut points under the shoulder. It is very harmful to citrus, apple, pear, mulberry, willow, poplar and other trees. It is distributed in most parts of the country.

The body is long, black, densely covered with short yellowish brown hairs, varying in depth. The female antennae are slightly longer than the body, and the male antennae are 2-3 knots longer than the body. The end scar of antennal peduncle segment is open, from the 3rd segment, about 1 / 3 of base of each segment is gray white. There are 2-3 lines of protrusion on the head along the eye margin. There are irregular transverse creases or transverse ridges between the anterior and posterior transverse sulcus of the anterior sternal plate, and black bright protrusions on both sides of the posterior center, the base of the lateral spinous process and the lateral part of the anterior chest. The base of the Coleoptera is densely covered with black and bright nodular particles, and the inner and outer corners of the wing end are spiny and protruding. The larva is milky white, with dense reddish brown granular dots on the posterior part of the hard skin plate of the front chest, including three pairs of white pointed leaf markings. This insect has a generation every year in the south, and may have a generation every two or three years in the north. It pupates in early June and emerges in early July.
It is also harmful to mulberry, willow, orange, apple, fig, pear, loquat and other trees. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Taiwan, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hebei, Liaoning and other places.
The larvae of the above two insects (Dendroctonus mori) are also used for medicine.
