[plant morphology] row grass
Perennial erect herbs, 15-40 cm high, with rust colored pubescence. Stems usually solitary, rarely branched. Leaf blade elliptic or lanceolate, 3-5 cm long, 5-12 mm wide, apex obtuse to acuminate, base narrowly cuneate; sessile. Flowers are densely distributed at the end of stem, outer pedicel longer than inner pedicel; calyx 5-lobed, lobes linear, about 1 cm long, back protuberant, with long hair and no obvious black line; corolla yellow, 5-lobed, lobes elliptic, ligulate, apex obtuse, or slightly absent, slightly longer than sepal; stamen 5-lobed, half corolla long, filament base united into tube; style about as long as stamen. Capsule subglobose, ca. 4 mm in diam. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruit ripens from June to July.
Born in the wild. Distributed in Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shandong, Henan and other places.

[clinical application] ① treatment of hypertension
Wash the whole fresh grass, fry and concentrate in water, add 5% sugar, preservatives and flavoring products, and make a syrup containing 1 liang of fresh grass per 50 ml. Once a day, 50 ml each time, before going to bed with warm water. 44 cases were observed and treated for 16 days. Other antihypertensive drugs were stopped during the course of medication, but auxiliary drugs such as linoleic acid pills and compound rutin were still taken as usual. According to the standard of the National Symposium on the prevention and treatment of cor pulmonale, coronary heart disease and hypertension in 1972, the curative effect was evaluated. Results there were 2 cases with markedly effective antihypertensive effect, 28 cases with effective antihypertensive effect and 14 cases with ineffective antihypertensive effect; there were 5 cases with markedly effective symptomatic effect, 30 cases with effective antihypertensive effect and 9 cases with ineffective antihypertensive effect. The order of symptom relief was dizziness, dizziness, stiff neck plate, insomnia and constipation. After taking the medicine, there were a few cases of insomnia or stomach discomfort, and no side effects or drug reactions were found. According to the observation, for primary stage II hypertension, TCM syndrome differentiation belongs to yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity, and the effect is better for patients with yang hyperactivity; for climacteric women, the effect of hypertension and renal hypertension is not good.
② Hemostasis
Use the following dosage forms for oral, injection or external use. 1. Decoction: take 0.5-1 liang of dried whole herb and 2-3 liang of fresh herb of jianxuezhu (huangkaikou), decocting twice a day. 2. Injection: 1 gram of crude drug per milliliter, intramuscular injection, 2-5 ml each time, twice a day; or for external hemostasis. Can also be made into glucose jianxuezhu injection, for intravenous injection, twice a day, 10 ml each time. Three external powder: will see blood live dry (not fried) powder, sealed high pressure disinfection. It is used for traumatic bleeding. Sprinkle the medicine powder on the bleeding wound, gently compress it with dressing and bandage it to stop bleeding. In addition, it can also be made into tablets and pills. A total of 174 patients with various kinds of bleeding were observed. 186 patients (78.2%) were cured quickly after medication. 23 patients (13.2%) had significant reduction in bleeding volume, and 15 patients (8.6%) had no effect. Experience has proved that the effect of fresh herb is stronger than that of dry herb, and the effect of intravenous injection is better than that of muscle injection. Clinical application of this product should be combined with other drugs for etiological treatment.
