[plant morphology] Panax notoginseng
Small fleshy vines. Leaves alternate, fleshy, ovoid, 4-6 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, smooth and glabrous; petiole short. The leaf axillary nodular bulbils, the surface is nodular, green, about 3-4 cm in diameter. Long spikes axillary, 20 cm long, pendulous; flowers small, green, corolla 5-petal.
Most of them are cultivated.

[flavor] slightly bitter, warm.
[function indications] nourishing, strengthening waist and knee, detumescence and stasis. It is used to treat lumbago and knee arthralgia, weakness after illness, traumatic injury and fracture.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: stewed chicken or pork, 1-2 Liang. External use: tamping.
[selected formula] treatment of sprain: notoginseng vine, yuzilan, Achyranthes bidentata, fennel. Tamp the affected part.
