[plant morphology] Artemisia argyi
Perennial herbs, 15-25 cm high, with short woolly hairs when tender. Stem from the base part of the branch, oblique growth, with purple. Leaves alternate, 3-pinnate, 3-5 cm long, dark green above, thick white hair below, lobes linear lanceolate, middle lobes usually 3-lobed; petiole tapering to base. Inflorescences numerous, yellow, integrated into a compact corymbose; involucral bracts ovate or long ovate, membranous, purplish brown; flowers all tubular, surrounded by female flowers, central flowers bisexual, 2-3 mm long, 5-cleft teeth. Achene 5-ribbed or 3-5-horned.
Born on alpine grass slopes. Distributed in Shaanxi, Gansu and other places.

Functions and indications: dispelling wind and calming, clearing heat and detoxifying. Treatment of infantile convulsion, rheumatism, numbness, appendicitis.
