Perennial herbs, 30-60 cm high. Rhizomes transverse, slender, brownish brown, covered with brown scales and roots. The leaves are distant, the petioles are brown and glabrous; the leaves are repeatedly pseudobifurcated, and the pinnae (stipules) are inserted at each intersection, and the pinnae are bifurcated at the last fork; the pinnae are lanceolate or broadly lanceolate, 20-30 cm long, 4-7 cm wide, apex acuminate, and the pinnae are deeply split; the lobes are long linear, 3.5-5 cm long, 4-6 mm wide, apex acuminate, blunt, and margin dry The leaves are white under the leaves, brown scales on the feather axis and lobe axis; the veinlets bifurcate 2-3 times, 3-4 in each group. There are 6-8 sporangia in the sporangia group.

It grows under forest or on acid soil of hillside. It is distributed all over the south of the Yangtze River.
