The shell is cone-shaped, hard and thick, about 3cm high, with 7 layers of spirochetes at the top of the shell, deep sutures and slightly larger body spirochetes; the shell surface is yellowish brown or dark brown, with obvious growth lines and thick spirochetes. The calyx is ovoid with intact margin. Horny, yellowish brown, ovoid, smooth, with concentric ring arrangement of growth lines. The body is soft, the head is cylindrical, and the front end has a prominent muzzle; there is a pair of antennae at the base of the mouth, and there is a raised eye on the outside of the base of each antennae. The foot is located under the head, with large shape and broad plantar surface. The head and foot can be retracted into the shell. After retraction, the shell will be closed.

They live in rivers, lakes, ponds and paddy fields, and mostly inhabit in the bottom with more humus. It feeds on the epidermis of algae and other plants. It is distributed in most parts of the country.
