Deciduous shrubs or small trees, 3-10m high. Leaves alternate, ovate or broad ovate, 6.5-12 cm long and 5.5-10 cm wide, apex acute or slightly obtuse, entire or upper 3-lobed, green above, with short hairs at the beginning, glabrous behind, grayish green below, densely brown yellow, sericeous or glabrous, with three veins; petiole 2-3 cm long. Flowers unisexual, allotype, pale yellow; integrated umbels, axillary, total pedicels short; perianth segments 6, fertile stamens 9, anthers 2-locular, intropetal lobed. Drupe globose, 7-8 mm in diameter, red when fresh, grayish brown when dry, hairy.
