[animal morphology] Siniperca chuatsi, also known as Siniperca chuatsi.

The body is oblate, spindle shaped, and the back is raised. Body length is generally about 25 cm. The head is large, slightly inclined, downward and protruding forward. There are small teeth of different sizes on the upper and lower jaw, hoe bone and operculum, and the teeth of the upper and lower jaw expand into canine teeth. The posterior margin of the anterior operculum is serrated with 4-5 large spines, and the posterior part of the operculum has 2 spines. The lateral scales are curved, and the lateral lines are small. Dorsal fin Ⅻ 13-15, anterior 12 spines; abdominal fin 17, near chest; gluteal fin Ⅲ 9-11; pectoral fin, gluteal fin and caudal fin are round. The body color is brown, the abdomen is gray, from the snout through the eyes to the front of the dorsal fin, there is a black stripe, there is usually a dark brown longitudinal band under the 6th to 7th dorsal spine; there are many irregular plaques and spots on the side of the body, and there are brown spots on each odd fin connected into a band.

The main food is fish and fish. It is widely distributed in all rivers and lakes in China.
