[plant morphology] Cinnamomum pauciflorum
Trees or shrubs, 2-4.6m high. Branchlets slightly felted. Leaves irregularly alternate, with 3 main veins, fragrant, leathery, ovate lanceolate or ovate elliptic, 6-8 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, apex pointed, base cuneate, glabrous on the top, densely covered with silky hairs on the bottom, sometimes almost glabrous; petiole 5-8 mm long, slightly filiform hairs. Umbel axillary, with 4-6 flowers, small, pale yellow flowers, perianth 6-lobed, pedicel 4-8 mm long, with 2 glands. Berry ovoid globose, about 1 cm long, red after ripening, perianth tube funnel-shaped, persistent. It blooms in autumn.
Wild in the bush.

Functions and indications: dispel wind and dampness, relax tendons and collaterals, and stop bleeding. It can treat rheumatic arthralgia, traumatic injury, knife wound and bleeding.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: 1-3 yuan at the end of research; or soaking in wine. External use: grind and sprinkle.
