[collection] kelp was harvested in summer and autumn, and the roots were cut and dried during processing.
[function indications] for chronic tracheitis, cough, asthma, hypertension, dizziness.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 0.5-1 Liang.
[clinical application] ① treatment of chronic tracheitis
Take 1 jin kelp root, 1.5 Liang, brown sugar, add water to make 450 ml thick liquid, 15 ml each time, 3 times a day after meals, 10 days as a course of treatment. After a course of treatment, 33 cases (16.5%) were controlled and 69 cases (29.5%) were markedly effective. It has certain curative effect on cough, asthma, phlegm and eliminating or reducing pulmonary rales, especially on relieving cough and eliminating wet rales. Most patients can take effect on the first day after taking the medicine, and the number of cases with 3-4 days of natural effect reaches the peak, while the number of cases with Luoyin reduction is higher on the third to fifth day. In the course of treatment, the side effects were mild, some of them had dry mouth, polyuria, palpitation, dizziness and so on.
② Treatment of hypertension
Take kelp root powder for swallowing, 6-12g per day; or make extract capsules, 6-9 pills per day (each pill contains about 2.6g of whole root powder). After 2-13 weeks or more observation, the results showed that 3 cases were markedly effective, 22 cases were effective and 15 cases were ineffective (according to the standard of 1959 National Cardiovascular Conference). The clinical symptoms and physical strength of most cases were improved in varying degrees. After taking the medicine, only a few patients had upper abdominal distension, phlegm, gingival swelling and pain, which were not serious and did not affect the continued treatment.
