[plant morphology] Rosa multiflora, also known as Juema, Niuji, jujube (Wupu materia medica), niule, shanzao (Wupu materia medica), qianmi, Shanji, Rosa (bielu), yujimiao (qingyilu), CIMI (salvaging materia medica), Cihong, Rosa multiflora (qunfangpu), barbula, heshangtou, qisister.
Small deciduous shrub, up to 2 m high. Stems and branches are spiny, sometimes thinly or twining, odd pinnate, compound leaves alternate; leaflets are usually 9, elliptic or broadly ovate, apex obtuse or pointed, base obtuse, margin serrate, both sides glabrous or pilose; stipules are very obvious, below the middle part connate with petioles, margin grate cleft. The flowers are mostly clustered, cone-shaped corymb, white, fragrant, with a few glandular hairs on the pedicel; sepals 5, lanceolate, densely villous; petals 5, heart-shaped or broadly obovate, concave head; stamens many; style glabrous, connate, extending out of the calyx tube; receptacle fleshy and glossy when mature. Achene, in torus annulate or pot like receptacle. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruit period is from August to September.
They are distributed in Shandong, Henan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Xinjiang.

[herbal medicine] most of the dried flowers are incomplete. It is mainly produced in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other places.
