Semi evergreen erect shrub, up to 2 m tall. The twigs and pedicels all have setae. Leaves opposite, ovate elliptic to ovate lanceolate, 4-7 cm long and 2-3.5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded, both sides and margin bristle. Flowers axillary in pairs, aromatic; bracts 1 pair, linear lanceolate, pilose and ciliate; corolla white, 1.5 cm long, hairy; style shorter than stamen, not protruding from corolla, ovary about 1 / 2 connate; calyx teeth short and unknown. Berries oblong, red, 2, joined more than half from base. The flowering period is from March to April. The fruit ripens in May to June.
Born on a rock mountain. Distributed in Shandong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hubei, Henan, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
