Crab beetle
Perennial herbs, 30-70 cm high. The whole plant is hirsute. The root is stout, branched, the lateral root is locally expanded, and the tuberous root is round and brown yellow. The basal leaves are tufted with purplish brown long stalks, and the leaves are oblong; the stem leaves are opposite, with short stalks, and the leaves are ovate, apex obtuse, base cuneate or heart-shaped, margin serrate, dark green above and green below. Cymes many flowered; calyx tubular, calyx teeth 5; corolla 2 lip shaped, lavender, upper lip margin dentate. Nuts.
Born on dry hillsides and fields. It is distributed in Tibet.
[collection] root tubers were collected from September to October, cleaned, sliced and dried in the sun.
Sweet and smooth.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat, relieving cough and resolving phlegm. Treat cold, cough, bronchitis.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-3 yuan.
