Small evergreen trees, smooth and glabrous. Skin thick, gray white, much branched. Leaves simple, alternate, long ovate, 10-15 cm long, 5-10 cm wide, entire or coarsely serrate, yellowish when dry. Flowers bisexual, arranged in axillary racemes, radially symmetric; perianth lobes 4, linear, dorsiflexed when open; stamens 4, anthers sessile, arising from the expanded part of perianth lobes; hypoglandular 4; ovary superior, sessile, 1-locular, style apical rodlike, ovules 2. Nuts round or oblate, not dehiscent; 2-seeded.
It grows in sparse forest on hillside. Distributed in Yunnan, Guangdong and other places.
