[plant morphology] female aster
Perennial herbs, 30-100 cm high. Stem erect, lower part smooth, upper part villous. Leaves alternate, basal leaves linear lanceolate or lanceolate, 5-12 cm long, 5-12 mm wide, apex gradually acute, base narrow, short petiole, margin rough, sparsely serrate, carved after anthesis; stem leaves sessile, linear lanceolate to linear, smooth above, green, below with fine soft hair, margin rough. Inflorescence densely corymbose, small, 5-8 mm in diameter; involucre tubular, about 4 mm long, bracts lanceolate, hairy, in series; peripheral ligulate flowers white, tongue about 2.5 mm long, tube about 2 mm long; central tubular flowers yellow, about 3.5 mm long, anther base obtuse and entire; stigma 2-lobed, lobes oblong, apex obtuse. Achenes oblong, ca. 1 mm, slightly flat, all hairy; corolla gray white or reddish. It blooms in autumn.
It grows in wet places. Distribution of northeast and Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei and other places.
