It is perennial, 20-30 cm high. Rhizomes short, erect, covered with brownish Brown narrowly lanceolate scales. The leaves are tufted; the petioles are 2-5 cm long, brown brown, bright and scaly; 2-pinnate compound leaves, lanceolate, 8-20 cm long, or longer, 1.5-6 cm wide, short acuminate; the pinnae are 10-15 pairs, almost sessile; the lower pinnae are slightly short, the middle pinnae are 1.4 cm long, 5-20 mm wide, oblong triangular, acute or blunt, pinnate, several to the axis, 4-6 lobes, Oblong, crenate, herbaceous, glabrous, but rachis more or less scaly.
