Small trees. Branchlets slightly tetragonal, densely covered with yellowish brown tomentose. Leaf blade ovate lanceolate, 15-18 cm long, 6-13 cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded to heart-shaped, entire or undulate, with sparse fine hairs on the top and yellow villi on the bottom, densely distributed along the veins, with 3 veins at the base, 5-9 on each side, curved upward near the leaf margin. Inflorescence broad panicle, terminal; petiole short; calyx cup-shaped, apex 5-toothed, teeth narrowly lanceolate; corolla tubular, apex 5-lobed, lobes long ovate, covered with white short soft hairs outside; stamen 5, filaments protruding, anthers dorsal, 2-locular longitudinal; pistil 1, ovary superior, style protruding, stigma 2-lobed. Berry obovate, dark blue, enclosed in calyx.
